Here are a few quick guidelines for our class:
- Please be sure to always sign your child in our attendance book on the cart by the door upon arrival to school and to sign your child out with a full signature when you pick your child up, noting each time of arrival and departure.
- Parents and children are required to wear masks while on campus per state guidelines. Children’s masks will be removed during eating and nap times.
- If someone other than a parent picks up your child, their name must be designated on your child’s emergency contact card and they must present a valid I.D. (Students check in on their own attendance chart located on the wall to reinforce name recognition as well as sign in separately in a student-designated notebook.)
- All students need to wear closed-toed shoes to school.
- Please bring a change of clothes in a zip locked bag labeled with your child’s name.
- We often paint, use shaving cream, glue, etc., and although we have the students wear smocks, they might get water-soluble materials on their clothes, so comfortable, casual, and washable daily wear is encouraged.
- We have plenty of educational toys and activities planned, so please do not have your child bring toys to school (with the exception of a small stuffed animal to be used during nap, if desired, and if your student stays for nap time).
- We are a peanut/nut-free facility and provide two healthy snacks each day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Our snack schedule is posted on the Parent Information Wall,on our website and distributed to each child with a copy of our snack menu. Our full day students must bring a healthy lunch every day. Use a thermos to keep food warm and ice packs for sandwiches, fruit, etc. NO PEANUTS OR PINE NUT PRODUCTS ARE ALLOWED DUE TO SEVERE STUDENT ALLERGIES.
- Please provide a labeled water bottle daily for your child.
- Our daily schedule is posted. All students who stay full day rest for nap, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. Please bring a towel to cover the mats that we provide since they are plastic and a small, light blanket. Please no bed or crib sheets. Belongings fit in a backpack and are stored on each child’s outdoor hook. Bedding goes home daily due to limited classroom space.
- We acknowledge student birthdays by singing “Happy Birthday” to the student and presenting him/her with a birthday crown and birthday pencil. Due to student allergies, parents are not able to bring any kind of food items to share.
